Head of Product Design

Overview

In this design leadership role, you will shape and elevate design across Butternut and Marro, guiding a talented team of product designers. You’ll partner with Product, Engineering, Data & AI to raise the quality bar, embed UX thinking, and ensure design decisions drive customer and business value. You’ll coach designers, nurture craft, and champion a premium, user-friendly experience across two brands at different maturity stages. This is a chance to scale design as a strategic partner and influence product direction.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and coaching to a team of experienced Product Designers across two brands (Butternut and Marro)
• Cultivate a culture of thoughtful critique, learning, and high standards; empower designers to do their best work
• Champion exceptional customer experiences and elevate UX, visual, and interaction design across products
• Define and propagate a design vision and principles that guide decisions and trade-offs
• Evolve and maintain the design system to deliver meaningful value
• Strengthen research practices with robust methodologies and reduced bias
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data & AI to shape product direction and policy
• Represent Design in cross-functional leadership discussions and advocate for design as a strategic partner

• Exceptional product design judgement and taste
• Proven ability to coach and develop designers; track record of raising team quality
• Ability to solve the right problems; connect design to customer and commercial value
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and credibility with Product, Engineering and Data/AI
