Overview

In this role you lead four in-store payment product teams to transform the customer payment experience across Tesco. You will shape strategy, align multiple teams, and drive scalable, secure payment technologies used in 5 markets. You balance customer needs with compliance and cost, delivering next-gen till capabilities and new payment methods. This is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership role at a scale where payment decisions directly influence conversion and trust in Tesco’s checkout experience.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a cash management strategy balancing customer needs, resilience, and costs
  • Pilot new cash/card devices and experiences for next-gen Tesco Tills
  • Expand payment reach to new markets via Tesco Till (e.g., Fuel stations, Central European stores)
  • Develop and implement a multi-vendor strategy to enable trading when others can’t
  • Launch payment-linked loyalty (e.g., Clubcard in digital wallets)
  • Test and learn new payment methods (Account to Account, BNPL, biometric)
  • Lead and develop Product Managers, align stakeholders across Stores frontend, Finance, and payment industry
  • Set direction, align teams, scale impact of platform products
  • Drive faster, more convenient checkout; transform in-store payments across 5 markets
  • Ensure payments are secure, compliant and resilient; keep products healthy and adaptable
