A respected educational organisation in Leeds is seeking a
Catering Assistant
to join its busy catering team. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with catering, kitchen, food service, hospitality, café, canteen, school catering or customer service experience who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and making a positive difference to young people’s daily experience.Working alongside the Catering Supervisor, you will help deliver a high-quality food service to students and staff, ensuring meals are nutritious, varied, affordable and meet a wide range of dietary requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Food preparation and basic cooking dutiesServing food and beverages to students, staff and visitorsMaintaining high standards of food presentationOrdering stock and receiving deliveriesConducting food temperature checksStock control and rotationOperating tills and handling cash transactionsCleaning kitchen, dining and food preparation areasEnsuring compliance with Food Hygiene and Health & Safety regulationsDelivering outstanding customer service at all timesSupporting the wider catering team as required
What We’re Looking For
Essential Requirements
Level 2 Food Hygiene CertificatePrevious experience in a kitchen, catering, café, hospitality or food service environmentExcellent customer service and communication skillsAbility to work effectively within a teamReliable, organised and proactive approachAbility to build positive relationships with students and staff
Desirable Experience
School, college, educational or public sector catering experienceStock management and orderingTill operation and cash handling
