Manager, EMEA FCC Monitoring & Testing

Overview

In this role you will lead Airwallex’s FCC monitoring and testing program for the EMEA region, establishing a robust, data-driven second-line assurance function. You will validate AML, sanctions, and KYC/KYB controls across production environments and drive remediation and governance to support regulator and partner reviews. You will partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations to translate testing insights into accountable actions and a defensible compliance posture. The role offers exposure to global regulatory challenges and a path to shape fintech risk strategy at scale. Responsibilities

• Contribute to the strategic development and execution of Airwallex’s Global FCC Monitoring & Testing Programme with risk-based testing plans.
• Design testing frameworks for onboarding, periodic reviews, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and regulatory reporting.
• Oversee the FCC monitoring program for the EMEA region and define KPIs and operating effectiveness metrics.
• Shift from sample reviews to continuous, data-enabled assurance using analytics and automated testing scripts.
• Validate system-encoded controls and ensure logic integrity without gaps or drift.
• Translate testing findings into clear executive reporting and oversee remediation of control deficiencies.
• Represent the monitoring function during regulatory examinations, audits, and partner reviews.

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Law, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field
• CAMS certification or ICA International Diploma in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (or equivalent)
• 7+ years in FCC quality assurance, compliance monitoring, internal audit, or related control function in fintech/payments/regulated banking
• Strong knowledge of financial crime controls across transaction monitoring, sanctions/PEP screening, CDD, and digital KYC/KYB
• Risk-based testing methodologies experience, including scoping, sampling, design/operating effectiveness, issue writing, remediation validation
• High ownership with strong written communication and stakeholder management skills
