Overview

In this role you guide end-to-end cost consultancy for private-sector commissions, delivering value-driven cost management and procurement outcomes. You work closely with clients and consultants to shape feasibility, cost plans, and post-contract reporting, driving value engineering and lifecycle cost thinking. You will lead a small team, win work in the private sector, and promote Mace in the region. This is an opportunity to shape project economics, governance, and client relationships at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct feasibility studies, business cases and write procurement reports
  • Apply value management techniques at project outset
  • Manage estimating and cost planning; own final cost plan
  • Lead procurement process across all stages (prequalification, enquiry, analysis, selection, contract)
  • Manage post-contract cost variances and change control
  • Oversee cost checking, valuations, and monthly post-contract cost reports
  • Attend meetings and actively participate in project work
  • Engage in value engineering and life cycle costing
  • Negotiate final accounts and ensure agreement
  • Serve as key interface with client and other consultants at all stages
  • Marketing and business development duties in sector; support regional promotion of Mace
  • Provide line management and oversee recruitment

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and member of a relevant institute
  • Track record of winning and delivering private sector work (corporate real estate, retail, leisure, hospitality, mixed-use)
  • Good knowledge of contracts, estimating, valuations, cost reporting and financial modelling
  • Experience in negotiating, influencing and communication to command professional respect
  • Digitally savvy; ability to build lasting client relationships and lead high-performing teams
