Senior Software Engineer, Unified Platform – Digital Assets

Overview

As Senior Software Engineer in DRW’s digital assets team, you design, build, and operate systems that move and safeguard cryptoassets across the firm. You own end-to-end delivery, collaborate with business partners, and ship in a fast, CI/CD–driven, Kubernetes-enabled environment. You will shape greenfield and legacy code, improve tooling, and mentor peers while tackling high-stakes money-movement-related problems. This role blends engineering independence with strong business impact.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test full-stack applications (APIs through UI) for digital asset operations
• Partner with business teams to translate ambiguous problems into clear technical plans and shipped software
• Own software end-to-end after deployment (deploy, operate, on-call)
• Work across greenfield projects and existing codebases
• Build and improve CI/CD tooling, containers, and Kubernetes/internal cloud
• Collaborate with software teams, trading desks, and business units
• Mentor and elevate engineering practices on the team
• Learn and champion new technologies as suited to the business

Key requirements

• Senior software engineer with crypto/digital-asset systems experience
• Deep Python expertise is a meaningful differentiator
• Experience with cryptoassets, custody/wallet platforms, or related money-movement systems
• Full-stack development with Python (FastAPI)
• Strong relational data modeling fundamentals
• Knowledge of GitOps and Kubernetes
• Experience with job orchestration systems (Airflow, Prefect)
