Senior Carer – Residential Care Home

Overview

In this role you lead a care team in a Barchester care home to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. You coordinate training, supervision and shift delegation, and support medication administration, care plan reviews, and risk assessments. You liaise with GPs, district nurses and residents’ families to maintain wellbeing and dignity. You contribute to a warm, welcoming, and vibrant residential environment and have opportunities to grow through ongoing training. This role combines hands-on care with people leadership to sustain quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• lead a team of care staff including training and supervision
• delegate duties on shift
• support with administering and ordering medication
• review and update resident care plans and risk assessments
• liaise with GPs, district nursing teams and resident families
• respect resident dignity and preferences and maintain a warm, welcoming environment

Key requirements

• NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care
• previous experience in a residential care setting
