Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Bristol
Pay: £110 – £130 per day
Contract: Temporary / Long-Term / Temp-to-Perm
Schedule: Monday to Friday, term time, Part/Full Time.
M&M Supply is an education recruitment agency looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work with schools across Bristol.
The Role
- Delivering pre-planned lessons and activities in the absence of the class teacher
- Leading small-group interventions and targeted learning sessions
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
- Assisting teachers with planning, preparation and classroom resources
- Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
- Helping pupils remain engaged and make progress with their learning
- Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Providing feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil progress
- Supporting the implementation of individual learning plans and EHCP targets where appropriate
- Contributing to the wider school community and maintaining high safeguarding standards
What We’re Looking For
- HLTA status/qualification or significant experience working at HLTA level
- Previous experience working within a UK school
- Confidence delivering learning activities and providing classroom cover
- Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
- A good understanding of safeguarding within education
- The ability to build positive relationships with children and young people
- A flexible, reliable and professional approach
Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, autism or ADHD would also be beneficial.
