Job Overview
Mathematics plays a prominent role in this school’s academic and co-curricular identity. The successful applicant will deliver engaging Mathematics lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE Higher and Foundation), with potential Key Stage 5 A-Level Mathematics delivery.
Working closely with the Mathematics department, you will guide pupils through algebraic manipulation, geometric reasoning, and multi-step problem solving, while running targeted revision workshops. This is a full-time, ongoing or permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach engaging and mathematically rigorous lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5
- Plan and deliver lessons that build numerical fluency, mathematical modeling, and problem-solving resilience
- Guide GCSE and A-Level pupils through structured assessment, feedback, and written exam preparation
- Utilize digital learning platforms and interactive software to enhance mathematical understanding
- Assess, track, and report on student progress across formal mock exams and classwork
- Fulfill pastoral duties as a Form Tutor, supporting student wellbeing and personal development
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT)
- Deep subject knowledge and the confidence to stretch mathematically ambitious pupils
- An active enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
