Ground System Security Design Engineer

Overview

In this role you will safeguard Airbus Defence and Space’s Spacecraft Control Centre and Satellite Communications infrastructures. You will own complex security architecture, ensure robust defenses, and coordinate defense strategies across projects. You work closely with cross-functional teams to align security with business processes and industry standards. The role combines hands-on cyber security work with project leadership in a high-security environment. Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end cyber security support for projects
• Assess functional needs, classify criticality, propose protection concepts, and manage project risks
• Maintain current knowledge of standards, governance, and best practices across disciplines
• Manage end-to-end projects and deliverables per Airbus Business Processes
• Coordinate activities of all actors to fit within the overall security architecture
• Leverage knowledge of Spacecraft Control Centre Systems to ensure robust protection
• Apply understanding of Satellite Communications infrastructures to secure data streams

Key requirements

• CISSP Accreditation
• CISM Accreditation
• Proven experience in a secure environment
• Knowledge of Solaris, Linux, and Windows operating systems
• Strong knowledge of Cisco infrastructures
• Working knowledge of JSP440
