Overview
In this role you will join a specialist construction disputes team in Bristol, handling high-value matters across construction and energy. You will work closely with cross-functional colleagues to manage disputes from adjudication to litigation, contributing to complex projects for a prestigious client base. The position offers direct client contact, ongoing training, and opportunities to develop your profile in a leading national firm. You will help shape strategy and resolution approaches on a range of construction and energy actions, including ADR and major reported matters.

Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day construction disputes
- Advise on adjudication and court litigation strategy
- Handle contract management and dispute mitigation
- Engage in ADR processes (adjudication, arbitration, mediation)
- Advise on construction and energy projects (development, utilities, renewables)
- Collaborate with Real Estate, Corporate, Commercial and Planning teams
- Support clients including funders, contractors, developers and authorities
Key requirements
- Experienced contentious construction lawyer
- Strong dispute management across adjudication and litigation
- Familiarity with JCT and NEC contracts and professional appointments
- Exposure to adjudications, arbitrations and expert determinations
- Excellent communication and commercial, pragmatic approach
- Ability to manage complex matters and advise on strategy under pressure
