Security Project Engineer

Overview

As a Project Engineer, you will lead the delivery of complex security and automation projects across utility sites in the UK. You will balance hands-on problem solving with strategic oversight, guiding on-site teams to meet quality, safety, and compliance standards. You’ll maintain clear client communications and robust project documentation while coordinating subcontractors and engineers. This role blends technical depth with leadership in a fast-growing, national-scale utility environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the delivery of security and automation projects across utility sites
• Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and compliance standards
• Maintain project documentation, reporting, and client communication
• Support teams with technical guidance, problem-solving, and site coordination
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to ensure expectations are met
• Manage your diary and workload, especially for England-based role

Key requirements

• Strong background in electrical engineering and on-site experience
• Experience on utility infrastructure projects, ideally National Grid sites
• Proven track record in managing or overseeing technical projects
• Ability to read, interpret, and produce technical documentation
• Confident communicator with excellent organisational skills
• Willingness to travel and stay away when required
• Full UK Driving Licence (electric company car provided)
