Customs Administrator

Overview

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Customs Administrator to join our busy Logistics and Supply Chain team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their knowledge and experience in customs procedures, regulatory compliance, and transportation management within a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organisational and communication skills, and the ability to manage tasks accurately and efficiently. While previous customs experience is desirable, a willingness to learn and develop is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and submitting customs declarations and supporting documentation
• Processing import, export and transit movements
• Checking commercial invoices, packing lists and other customs documentation for accuracy
• Liaising with customers to obtain information required for customs clearance
• Working closely with our Transport and Groupage teams to ensure shipments are customs cleared on time
• Monitoring movements and resolving customs queries or documentation issues
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring documentation is retained correctly
• Following internal customs procedures and compliance controls
• Assisting with general customs administration and supporting the wider Customs team

• Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in getting things right
• Is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Has good organisational and time-management skills
• Is confident using computer systems and Microsoft Office
• Can communicate professionally with customers and colleagues
• Is able to prioritise workloads and work to deadlines
• Is willing to learn and develop their knowledge of customs
• Works well as part of a team but is also comfortable working independently
