Lead Commissioning Engineer

Overview

As Lead Commissioning Engineer, you will guide a team of about 10 engineers to deliver safe, compliant plant commissioning and maintenance initiatives. You will manage project delivery from initiation to installation through PMPs, while ensuring performance, safety, and regulatory adherence. You’ll work closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to boost plant reliability and address recurring issues. This role offers exposure to major outages, safety-critical events, and cross-functional leadership in a renowned nuclear environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead frontline engineering services and oversee a group of assets for safe, compliant operations
• Prepare and manage Plant Modification Proposals (PMPs) from initiation to installation
• Identify plant issues and coordinate corrective maintenance actions
• Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and company policies (safety, cost, quality)
• Monitor plant performance and implement improvement actions based on data
• Conduct regular plant walkdowns to assess conditions and impacts
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering Reliability to improve delivery and reliability
• Diagnose system issues and deploy short- and long-term fixes with SMEs as needed
• Lead delivery and integration of the TDA-supplied plant engineering team during outages and safety-critical events
• Manage motivation, development, and performance of the TDA engineering team

Key requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong maths and literacy skills
• Excellent IT skills
• Desire to engage and grow industry contacts
• Ability to obtain security clearance as required by projects
• Full UK Driving License
