Overview

As Senior Manager, Software & Platform Engineering, you lead large-scale technology transformation programmes and shape outcomes for senior client stakeholders. You will mobilise and structure complex engagements, balance strategic direction with pragmatic delivery, and advance AI-enabled transformation across industries. You’ll develop teams, foster engineering capability, and contribute to practice growth while partnering with clients to accelerate engineering maturity. This role offers impact at scale within a global, innovation-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale technology transformation programmes and work with senior client stakeholders to shape outcomes
• Mobilise engagements, establish delivery governance, and design optimal team structures from the start
• Provide strategic leadership across delivery, engineering strategy, and business outcomes
• Develop and mentor managers, engineers, architects, and multi-disciplinary teams
• Advise on modern software engineering practices, cloud-native architectures, and DevOps
• Guide AI-enabled transformation initiatives and ensure responsible, pragmatic technology adoption
• Support business development, opportunity shaping, and client relationship building
• Strengthen the engineering community through mentoring, capability development, and thought leadership
• Balance strategic thinking with pragmatic delivery leadership across diverse client environments

Key requirements

• Proven experience leading large-scale software engineering, technology transformation, or digital modernisation programmes in complex enterprises
• Experience engaging senior client stakeholders as a trusted advisor across delivery, engineering strategy, transformation, and outcomes
• Ability to mobilise and lead complex engagements, including governance, team shaping, and directing delivery
• Track record of leading managers, engineers, architects, and multidisciplinary tech teams with a focus on people development
• Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, cloud-native architectures, platform engineering, DevOps, and product-centric delivery
• Hands-on software engineering background with one or more modern tech stacks and ability to provide strategic direction
• Experience applying AI and emerging technologies within wider transformation programmes
• Commercial awareness with programme financials, budgets, forecasts, delivery performance, and engagement health
• Experience contributing to business development, including opportunity shaping, proposals, client conversations, and sales enablement
• Commitment to building engineering communities, capability development, and internal initiative leadership
• Comfort working across various client sectors, balancing strategic thinking with delivery leadership
• Consulting experience is beneficial but not required
