Lead DevOps Engineer

Overview

In this Lead DevOps role, you will support mission-critical derivatives trading systems and real-time data platforms, ensuring availability, resilience, and regulatory compliance. You will partner with global traders, desks, and engineering teams to implement deployment practices, optimize performance, and improve reliability in complex trading environments. You’ll own deployment and observability practices, drive CI/CD for front-office systems, and lead incident response and improvement initiatives. This position offers exposure to high-stakes financial technology, cross-functional collaboration, and opportunities to shape engineering practices at scale.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage workflows and reliability for global trading environments
• Design and implement deployment, monitoring, and observability practices
• Troubleshoot production issues in real-time and provide rapid incident resolution
• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines for front-office environments
• Collaborate with traders, developers, and infrastructure teams to ensure scalability and performance
• Lead integration and performance testing for low-latency trading platforms
• Improve compliance and audit readiness, aligning with RTS6 and regulatory standards
• Provide expert guidance on FIX connectivity, market data distribution, and vendor integrations
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce operational risks and technical debt
• Participate in on-call rotation for global trading infrastructure support

Key requirements

• 8+ years in supporting trading systems in front-office environments
• FIX protocol engineering experience and vendor/exchange certification
• Strong Python, PowerShell, and scripting for automation
• Familiarity with C# and SQL concepts
• Experience with market data distribution systems (RTDS – ADS/DACS/ADH)
• Solid knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for mission-critical systems
• Operational experience with OMS/EMS platforms (TT, Bloomberg, NYFIX)
• Strong incident management capabilities under high pressure
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach
• Time-series analytics experience (kdb+, Shakti)
• Knowledge of multicast messaging protocols and real-time data traffic management
• Cloud-native DevOps and container orchestration familiarity
• Awareness of RTS6 algo-trading compliance and audit processes
• Experience with observability tools and monitoring frameworks
