Business Intelligence Analyst

Overview

In this role you will design, build and support reporting and insights using Power BI, with exposure to the Microsoft Power Platform. You translate business needs into data solutions, enabling self-serve analytics and well-governed information to drive decisions. You’ll work with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver dashboards and data models that scale with the business. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape how the group uses data to support growth and sustainability goals.

Responsibilities

• Design and build interactive reports, data visualisations and dashboards with Power BI
• Enable and promote self-serve reporting by developing reusable datasets, reports and standards
• Design and maintain robust data models
• Identify and address inefficiencies in data processing
• Maintain systems and procedures to keep data feeds up-to-date and relevant
• Contribute to the design and development of applications using Power Apps
• Identify opportunities for process automation and support the use of Power Automate
• Work with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide support, and ensure successful solution delivery
• Develop and update technical documentation
• Ensure change control processes are adhered to across reporting, information delivery and low-code solutions
• Ensure reporting, analytics and automation solutions are designed according to best practice and aligned to C&C data and governance policies
• Keep current with new features, tools, and best practices within the Power Platform ecosystem

Key requirements

• Min 2-3 years in a data-focused role
• Bachelor’s degree (minimum 2:1) or equivalent work experience in a STEM field
• Exposure to or interest in low-code platforms and automation (Power Platform)
• Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate (desirable)
• Experience in business-facing roles (desirable)
• Strong experience with Power BI, with understanding of Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) or willingness to develop
• Proficient in SQL
• Strong practical experience with DAX, Power Query and Excel, including building maintainable reporting models
• Ability to gather business requirements and translate into technical solutions
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong understanding of business operations and aligning data solutions with goals
• Ability to present findings clearly to non-technical audiences
