Senior Network Engineer with Security and Cisco – City London

Overview

In this Senior Network Engineer role, you will design, secure and support high-availability network infrastructure for a fast-paced financial services environment in City London. You will work within Infrastructure to deliver BAU and project-based improvements, focusing on perimeter to DMZ firewalls, IPS deployment, and global standards. You help remediate security findings and migrate the network estate to a new security framework. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that combines design, troubleshooting and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Support BAU and service delivery within Infrastructure team
• Design, build and implement firewall solutions from perimeter to DMZ
• Support IPS deployment for European branches
• Develop, maintain and deliver global networking standards
• Remediate Penetration Test results
• Ensure seamless migration to a newly adopted security framework

Key requirements

• Experience in mission-critical environments
• Operational deployment experience
• Data-centre cabling and equipment racking
• In-depth Cisco knowledge (firewalls, switches, routing)
• Experience with data-centre/branch inter-connectivity
• CCNP and Cisco security tools (CSM) are preferred
• VLAN segmentation experience
• McAfee HIPS, Trend Micro
• Centralised authentication services (AAA)
• SafeNet Ethernet Encryptor, RADIUS/RSA
• Security certification advantageous
• Knowledge of OSPF and high availability
• Exposure to Palo Alto, Juniper, Tripwire
