Church Support Administrator

Salary: £35,000 FTE (£21,000)
Hours: Part time, 3 days per week (0.6 FTE)

Help us strengthen our relationship with the Methodist Church
The Central Finance Board of the Methodist Church (CFB) exists to serve the Church in the stewardship of its financial resources. We provide investment and deposit services to Methodist organisations across the Connexion and have a longstanding commitment to ethical and responsible investment rooted in the values of the Church.
We are looking for a Church Support Administrator to help us deepen our relationships across the Methodist Church and ensure that we continue to listen closely to the people and organisations we serve.
This is a varied, people-focused role. You might be helping a local church treasurer navigate a practical issue, supporting colleagues to resolve a query, building relationships with people across the Connexion, or helping us communicate our work on ethical investment to a wider Methodist audience.
Just as importantly, we want you to listen. Recent work with churches and treasurers has reminded us how valuable it is to understand the practical challenges people face and use that insight to improve how we work.
What you’ll be doing
· Support relationships with the Connexional Team, districts, circuits, local churches, treasurers and other volunteers.
· Provide a friendly and knowledgeable point of contact for people interacting with the CFB.
· Help answer questions, troubleshoot problems and make sure issues reach the right person and are followed through.
· Listen to the experiences of those we serve and help us identify practical ways of making their interactions with the CFB easier.
· Help communicate the work of the CFB, including our distinctive approach to ethical and responsible investment.
· Support engagement with Methodist meetings, events and networks.
· Help us build a stronger two-way relationship between the CFB and the wider Church.
About you
You do not need to be an investment expert.
We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable, curious and good with people. You will enjoy solving problems and helping others, communicate clearly, and be comfortable building relationships with people in very different roles.
An understanding of the Methodist Church and how the Connexion works would be particularly valuable, as would experience of working with churches, charities, volunteers, membership organisations or in a customer-facing role.
Above all, we are looking for someone who understands that good relationships begin with listening and who wants to help the CFB serve the Methodist Church well.
