Cyber Security and Compliance Specialist

Overview

In this permanent role you will own the organisation’s cyber security posture and help shape security strategy as the first dedicated specialist. You will blend hands-on security work with governance and compliance in a hybrid setting in Kidlington. You’ll lead risk assessments, implement new technologies, and embed security across infrastructure and development while delivering awareness training. This is an opportunity to build and scale a security function that supports the business goals.

Responsibilities

• Own the organisation’s cyber security posture
• Monitor security risks and proactively identify vulnerabilities
• Review M365, Entra ID, endpoint security and other alerts
• Carry out risk and security assessments for new technologies and projects
• Support Information Security compliance with UK standards and regulations
• Assist Cyber Essentials and broader security governance activities
• Recommend, implement and improve security tools, controls and processes
• Work on Microsoft security projects including IAM improvements
• Collaborate with technical teams to embed security across infrastructure and development
• Deliver security awareness training and promote best practice
• Advise stakeholders on security risks and practical solutions

Key requirements

• Solid technical background with governance/compliance experience
• Experience in Cyber Security and Information Security
• Information Security Compliance / GRC
