Technical Coordinator Fashion

Overview

In this role you will oversee the technical delivery of fashion programmes, guiding students in practical skills and knowledge. You will coordinate fashion tech resources, workshops and facilities, partnering with academic staff and students to support an outstanding student experience. You will lead technical operations, develop staff, and contribute to curriculum delivery, while promoting sustainable practices in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers the chance to shape technical provision and advance innovation in fashion education.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day fashion technical resources, workshops and facilities across garment and textile technologies
• Oversee technical operations and develop technical staff
• Contribute to curriculum delivery and student experience
• Foster cross-functional collaboration with academic, technical and operations colleagues
• Support development of sustainable technical practices and responsible design approaches
• Explore emerging technologies to enhance technical teaching and learning

Key requirements

• Substantial professional experience in fashion, garment and/or textile technologies
• Relevant degree, equivalent qualification, or significant industry experience
• Organised, collaborative leader capable of motivating diverse teams
• Commitment to inclusive learning environments and outstanding student experience
• Knowledge of sustainable fashion practices and environmentally responsible workshop management
• Teaching experience in higher education and teaching qualifications (PGCert) would be advantageous
