Consultant Respiratory Physician – Cross site

Overview

In this role you will lead consultant-level Respiratory Medicine across our East Sussex sites, contributing to patient-centred care and strengthening clinical leadership. You will work within a team delivering respiratory and general internal medicine, with opportunities in asthma, COPD, EBUS and bronchiectasis. The role combines ward, outpatient, and interventional duties, supported by a state-of-the-art simulation suite and extensive educational activity. You will help shape services and collaborate across sites to improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Respiratory ward cover
• Outpatient clinics for routine, urgent and suspected lung cancer
• Provide guidance to primary care
• Pleural procedures
• EBUS, bronchoscopic and other thoracic interventional diagnostic procedures
• GIM on-call cover

Key requirements

• MB BS or equivalent
• Full GMC registration with licence to practise
• Name on Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT interview date (CESR)
• Wide experience in General Internal Medicine and Respiratory Medicine with CCT in both
• Leadership/management experience and understanding of clinical governance
• Experience in audit, teaching and research
• Ability to lead and work with multidisciplinary teams
