Staff Software Engineer & Line Manager – Machine Learning (C++ & Vulkan)

Overview

In this role you will contribute technically to the ML SDK for Vulkan while shaping a high-performing, inclusive engineering team. You’ll work closely with Technical Leads to align skills with priorities and mentor engineers as they grow. You’ll design, implement, and maintain software across ML, graphics, and compute domains, helping to translate complex challenges into clear work items. This position offers hands-on coding with people leadership, enabling you to stay close to the tech while developing others. You’ll join a mission-driven environment focused on advancing ML on Arm across cross-functional ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Coach and develop a group of software engineers through feedback, career planning, and performance support
• Partner with Technical Leads to align skills and capacity with priorities
• Contribute hands-on to design, implementation, debugging, testing and maintenance of the ML SDK for Vulkan
• Foster an inclusive engineering environment that encourages collaboration, ownership, and continuous learning
• Plan and coordinate work across roadmap development, quality, and maintenance
• Strengthen team capability through hiring, onboarding, and skills development
• Collaborate with architects, leads, and engineering teams across ML and Vulkan ecosystems
• Translate engineering challenges into achievable work while upholding software quality standards

Key requirements

• Strong modern C++ experience
• Scripting skills, ideally Python
• Experience designing, developing, debugging, testing, and maintaining complex software systems
• Experience leading, mentoring, or managing software engineers
• Ability to coordinate work across competing priorities and collaborate with technical leaders and architects
• Knowledge of code review, CI, testing, release processes, and Agile development
• Experience across Linux, Android, emulators or software models
• Clear written and spoken communication skills
