Do you understand heavy civil construction, earthworks or surveying – and have the technical ability to learn software and explain it to others?
We’re looking for a Software Support & Trainer to join an established construction technology business that forms part of a global leader in digital reality, sensor, software and autonomous technology.
This is a great opportunity for someone who sits somewhere between construction, technology and customer enablement.
You might already work for a construction software company – or you could be a Surveyor, Site Engineer, Digital Construction specialist, Machine Control specialist or construction professional who has become the go-to person for technology and software within your business.
The role
Working remotely in the UK, you’ll become a key technical point of contact for UK and European customers, working alongside the UK Sales Development Director and a wider international team.
You’ll support and train customers using specialist construction applications covering:
• Earthwork take-off and estimating
• Production and progress tracking
• Drone/UAV workflows
• Machine-control modelling
• Digital construction workflows
This isn’t a conventional IT helpdesk role.
You’ll need to understand how construction actually works, diagnose problems, explain technical concepts clearly and help customers get genuine value from the technology.
What will you be doing?
You’ll provide technical software support via phone, email and remote sessions, troubleshoot customer issues and work with product teams to identify bugs and recommend improvements.
You’ll also:
• Deliver online and face-to-face customer training
• Lead hands-on, multi-day training courses
• Train sales teams and internal colleagues
• Support product testing and QA
• Help develop guides, videos, webinars and training material
• Support drone and machine-control workflows
• Represent the business at industry events
• Work closely with wider Geosystems teams
What are we looking for?
The key requirement is experience within heavy civil construction, earthworks, surveying or a closely related environment, combined with a strong aptitude for technology.
You’ll need to be confident communicating with customers, troubleshooting technical problems and explaining software in straightforward, practical terms.
Experience with construction technology would be particularly valuable.
That could include exposure to platforms or environments such as AGTEK, Trimble, Leica, Topcon, Autodesk, Bentley, HCSS, Causeway, Procore, Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, CostX, RIB, Propeller, Bluebeam or similar.
Experience with drones/UAVs, surveying, 3D modelling, machine control, digital construction or software training would also be highly relevant.
