Overview

In this role you will shape mechanical design for water and wastewater projects from concept to handover, ensuring safe, efficient, and integrated solutions. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to meet programme, budget, and quality requirements, delivering impactful designs for Thames Water assets. You will engage with clients and colleagues to drive practical outcomes that protect communities and the environment. Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical designs for water and wastewater projects across outline, detailed design, construction, commissioning and handover, including P&IDs, valve schedules, and pump calculations
  • Coordinate with Electrical, Civil, Geotech and Process designers to deliver on programme, budget, and framework quality
  • Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to create efficient, practical and safe design solutions
  • Engage with clients and maintain strong relationships using a one-team approach to support project aims

Key requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Working towards IEng / CEng with a relevant Engineering Institution
  • Effective communication with team members and stakeholders
  • Methodical approach to problem solving
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the region
