Hardware Mechanical Engineer

Overview

As Hardware Mechanical Engineer you will drive detailed design and development of mechanical components across the full product lifecycle. You’ll collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions on-site in Stevenage, with potential for subsystem ownership growth. You contribute by identifying risks early and proposing practical solutions that translate requirements into reliable products. This role sits at the heart of enabling life-changing health technologies and continuous improvement within the Danaher system.

Responsibilities

• Own detailed design and development of mechanical components and assemblies
• Create and maintain high-quality CAD models and engineering drawings
• Identify design risks early and propose evidence-based solutions

Key requirements

• >3 years experience delivering mechanical solutions
• Understanding of materials, tolerancing, and analysis
• Hands-on experience in prototyping, testing, or product development environments
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate requirements into practical designs
• Ability to travel – Occasional travel to partner sites in Europe & UK (<5% of time)
