The client

A leading financial services firm dedicated to providing innovative financial solutions is looking for a 4PQE+ Markets Lawyer to join their team of trading floor lawyers.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in advising the sales and trading teams, managing derivatives transactions and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing full range legal support for the business with derivatives transactions, including OTC derivatives, and exchange-traded derivatives.
• Supporting with derivatives hedging transactions
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating derivatives documentation
• Collaborating with internal teams, including trading, risk management, compliance, and operations, to ensure smooth execution of derivatives transactions.
• Managing external legal counsel as needed and coordinating with counterparties’ legal teams.
• Working with the regulatory team on matters related to derivatives, including EMIR, MiFID II, and other relevant regulations.
• Keeping abreast of legal and regulatory developments in the derivatives market and providing updates and training to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Qualified lawyer with 4+ years of post qualification experience (PQE) in derivatives law, preferably within a financial services firm or top-tier law firm.
• Experience of derivatives markets and products.
• Strong understanding of global regulatory requirements affecting derivatives transactions.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
