Senior Civil Engineer

Overview

As a Senior Civil Engineer at AECOM, you will lead delivery of complex infrastructure projects across drainage, highways, defence, and data centre domains, blending technical leadership with project management. You will work within our Civil Engineering discipline and collaborate with a broad team to develop buildable designs and drive project success for public and private sector clients. You’ll support business growth through client relationships while coordinating with multidisciplinary experts across the UK and abroad. Responsibilities

• Provide commercial and technical leadership to engineering teams, plan workloads, and deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards
• Lead, review, and approve civil infrastructure designs and specifications for site development, earthworks, drainage, pavements, highways, and utility infrastructure
• Manage a portfolio of schemes and undertake ongoing project management duties
• Support business development by nurturing client relationships and winning new work in property and development sectors
• Coordinate with civil engineers and specialists (ground, electrical, mechanical, structural, architectural, environmental) across the UK and global offices

Key requirements

• Significant experience in UK development-led infrastructure engineering within private or consultancy environments
• Strong technical capability in design of highways, access roads, earthworks, pavements, drainage, and services
• Good understanding of relevant standards and guidance
• Experience with 3D road design modelling (Civil 3D)
• Experience with drainage design including piped and SuDS systems, familiarity with storage design and InfoDrainage
• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Chartered Civil Engineer or Incorporated Engineer status, or progressing towards professional accreditation
