Associate Civil Engineer

Overview

As an Associate Civil Engineer, you will lead technical delivery, guide multi-disciplinary teams, and foster strong client relations to bring visionary projects to life. Responsibilities

• Design, manage and supervise project delivery, define client brief, requirements, scope, and deliverables across projects
• Agree service levels and fee alignment with the Director and manage fee draw-down and invoicing
• Monitor resources and CAD requirements, forecast engineering workload, and ensure timely design reviews
• Perform concept to detailed design, tendering, on-site supervision, and project completion
• Ensure technical compliance and consistent quality across all designs and reports
• Maintain client relationships and pursue repeat business while managing client expectations
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities and assist with company presentations
• Coach and develop staff, set objectives, and monitor performance
• Implement QA systems, health and safety, and CDM compliance
• Accurately complete timesheets and assist with reporting and invoicing
• Oversee project progress, cost control, and project administration processes

Key requirements

• BEng, MSc in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or equivalent subject
• Incorporated Status preferred and pursuit of Chartered status
• Minimum 7 years’ industry experience, ideally in a design consultancy
• Experience in designing and managing projects
• Computer modelling and producing CAD drawings; effective communication with other consultants
• Project management experience with limited supervision
• Competency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint
