Principal Civil Engineer

As a senior technical leader, you will steer the technical delivery of transport and civil projects in Western Australia while mentoring teams and collaborating with clients. Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex transport and civil infrastructure projects in WA
• Provide senior technical input, review and verification of designs, drawings and reports
• Act as a technical authority within the discipline to ensure high‑quality outcomes
• Champion Safety in Design, quality systems and best‑practice OHS&E behaviours
• Engage directly with clients to understand needs and deliver value‑driven solutions
• Manage scope, programme, cost and risk across multiple projects
• Mentor engineers and support capability uplift and knowledge transfer
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams locally and nationally
• Contribute technical input to proposals and pursuits to support business growth

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• CPEng or equivalent
• Typically 10–15 years of experience in civil and transport engineering
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, Main Roads WA standards, PTA standards and civil design practices
• High‑level capability in design software (e.g. OpenRoads or 12D)
• Proven experience leading technical delivery on complex projects
• Ability to manage technical risk and apply Safety in Design principles
• Strong client engagement skills with WA infrastructure project experience
