Overview

In this Mechanical Engineer role within Stantec’s Energy & Resources team, you contribute to a broad portfolio of energy transition projects, from waste-to-energy plants to hydrogen and biogas schemes. You work across the full project life cycle, from optioneering to detailed design and installation, collaborating with clients and partners to deliver project-wide solutions. You will support feasibility studies, site surveys, and the creation of specifications and drawings that underpin construction packages. Responsibilities

  • Contribute to optioneering, detailed design and installation across projects
  • Perform feasibility studies and site surveys
  • Collaborate with clients and team members to develop designs and project-wide solutions
  • Create specifications, scoping documents and assess vendor designs for construction packages
  • Produce and review General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Communicate technical updates to clients and team members
  • Support progress assessment of vendor designs and integration into projects

Key requirements

  • Mechanical Engineering background or related field with energy/power or process plant exposure
  • Ideally Chartered or on track toward Chartership
  • Experience producing technical specifications and reports across multiple technologies
  • Familiarity with General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models and P&ID
  • Ability to communicate technical information to clients and teams
  • Understanding of multiple technologies (steam, piping, hydrogen, biomass, EfW)
