Associate Structural Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and delivery of projects across multiple sectors
• Manage and mentor a team of 3–4 engineers and technicians
• Act as project lead, delivering to programme, budget, and quality standards
• Liaise with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams to develop design solutions
• Review and approve calculations, drawings, and technical specifications
• Provide technical leadership across multiple projects
• Support business development, including client engagement and proposal preparation
• Ensure compliance with UK standards, codes, and regulations

Key requirements

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status (e.g. ICE or IStructE)
• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Extensive experience in a structural engineering consultancy
• Proven experience leading projects and managing small teams
• Strong technical knowledge across building structures
• Experience across multiple sectors (commercial, residential, healthcare, education)
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Proactive and collaborative problem-solving approach
• Knowledge of software including Robot, MasterSeries, Etabs, Tedds, CSC Fastrac Building Designer, Revit
