Principal/Associate Structural Engineer

Overview

As Principal/Associate Structural Engineer in our London office, you will lead structural design and project delivery for a range of residential, mixed-use, and international schemes. You will drive client relationships, bids, and business development while mentoring a growing team and collaborating with the London Director to shape the office’s expansion. You’ll work hands-on across materials, sites, and design phases, tackling challenging schemes with real impact. This is an opportunity to influence project quality, scale, and the development of a high-growth team in a respected multidisciplinary practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and teams on a variety of refurb and new buildings
• Develop and maintain client relationships to grow the business
• Contribute to fee bids, cost planning and quotes
• Mentor junior engineers and support team development
• Perform hands-on structural design and site visits
• Collaborate with the London Director to drive office growth
• Work across multiple materials and engagement types (refurb and new)
• Support business development initiatives and cross-functional collaboration

Key requirements

• MIStructE or MICE qualification (ideally)
• proven track record in leading projects and teams
• ability to develop clients and deliver proposals
• experience with a range of building types and scales (5–80m projects)
• eligible to live and work in the UK
• strong communication and mentoring skills
