Join the Kelida Solutions Team
Kelida Solutions is looking for an experienced Fire & Security Service Engineer to join our growing engineering team.
Unlike our installation engineers, who regularly work on projects across the UK, this position is predominantly Yorkshire-based, servicing and maintaining systems for customers across our local and regional client base.
You’ll be trusted to manage your workload, diagnose problems and represent Kelida professionally when working directly with our customers.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Service Engineer, your role will focus on the servicing, maintenance, testing and fault-finding of fire, security and life-safety systems.
Depending on your experience, this may include:
- Planned preventative maintenance
- Fire alarm servicing and testing
- Intruder alarm servicing
- CCTV maintenance
- Access control
- Emergency Voice Communication Systems (EVCS)
- Disabled WC alarm systems
- Fault-finding and diagnostics
- Identifying faults and recommending remedial works
- Responding to reactive service and call-out requirements
- Completing service documentation and certification accurately
- Communicating directly with customers while on site
- Supporting customers in keeping their systems maintained and compliant
This is a customer-facing position, so we’re looking for someone who combines strong technical ability with a professional and helpful approach.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an engineer who is confident working independently and can diagnose and resolve faults rather than simply replacing equipment.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- Previous fire and/or security servicing experience
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience servicing and maintaining fire and/or security systems
- A good understanding of relevant standards and servicing requirements
- The ability to work independently and manage a daily workload
- Strong customer-facing and communication skills
- Good attention to detail when completing paperwork and certification
- A professional and reliable approach
- A full UK driving licence
Experience across multiple disciplines is advantageous, but if you have strong experience in one area and want to expand into others, we’d still like to hear from you.
Why Join Kelida?
The package includes:
- Competitive salary depending on experience
- Door-to-door paid travel
- Company van
- Company phone and laptop
- Paid overtime
- 1-in-6 on-call rota
- Training and development opportunities
- Opportunities to develop across additional fire and security disciplines
- Opportunity to progress as the business grows
- Option to purchase additional annual leave
- Company events including our annual race day and Christmas party
You’ll also be joining a team led by people who understand what it’s like to work as an engineer. Our management team includes former engineers, so the realities of working on the road, dealing with faults and representing the business on site are understood.
Develop Your Career With Kelida
We want our engineers to continue developing rather than becoming stuck doing the same work year after year.
Whether that means expanding into CCTV, intruder, access control, structured cabling or developing your knowledge of different fire systems, we want to give you opportunities to broaden your skill set.
We’re looking for someone who wants to become a long-term part of the Kelida team.
