Lead Software Engineer – Cloud Platform Engineering

Overview

In this Platform Engineer role, you will build secure, high-quality production code and scalable cloud-native platform services. You’ll work within the Accelerator Business Platform Team to get innovative ideas into customers’ hands, focusing on reliability, automation, and secure operations. You collaborate in cross-functional squads, drive adoption of new technologies, and contribute to a diverse, inclusive engineering culture. This position offers the chance to shape fintech platforms at scale and influence product delivery across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop secure production code and review code from others
• Create composable infrastructure and platform capabilities
• Identify and automate recurring remediation to improve stability
• Provide production support in a you-build-it-you-run-it environment, including incident response
• Lead evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams to assess architecture and fit
• Lead communities of practice to promote new technologies
• Contribute to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion and respect
• Design, build, and operate Kubernetes-based platform services; automate self-service and CI/CD; strengthen security and controls through IaC and policy-as-code

Key requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts (e.g., CKAD, Google Associate Cloud Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect)
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced in one or more languages (Go, Java, Kotlin)
• Strong understanding of agile, CI/CD, resiliency, and security
• Experience with cloud-native deployments on cloud providers (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure)
• Practical cloud-native experience with Kubernetes-based applications
