Senior Software Engineer – Core Marketing Platforms

Overview

In this role you will help design and optimize scalable microservices powering FanDuel’s marketing ecosystem. You will work within a modern event-driven architecture to enable real-time communications, personalized promotions, and targeted campaigns. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven, AI-enhanced MarTech solutions at scale. Responsibilities

• Build and optimize high-performance microservices and event-driven systems
• Lead projects with strategic direction and design future architecture
• Coaching and developing other engineers’ technical skills
• Deliver secure, maintainable code with tests and documentation
• Participate in design, scoping, prioritization, and code reviews
• Own the state of the codebase and resolve defects, root causes, and on-call issues
• Collaborate with teammates to identify opportunities and risks from technical decisions
• Estimate tasks, ensure on-time delivery, and stay up-to-date with market standards

Key requirements

• Strong backend experience with Java
• Experience with AWS and DevOps concepts (Terraform)
• Experience with event streaming technologies (SNS/SQS or Kafka)
• Proficiency with relational and non-relational databases and messaging queues
• Experience with high-volume systems and cloud infrastructure (prefer AWS)
• Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Expert testing concepts and SDLC integration
• Agile experience and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
