Your new company Hays are partnering with a leading global manufacturing organisation to recruit an HR Generalist. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced, people-focused business where you will play a key role in supporting employees and managers across a wide range of HR activities.

Your new role As HR Generalist, you will provide comprehensive human resources support across multiple HR functions within a busy manufacturing environment. Acting as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, you will support the full employee lifecycle, ensuring HR processes are delivered effectively, compliantly and in line with business objectives.

The main duties and responsibilities of the post are:

  • Managing the full onboarding process for new employees across manufacturing and support functions.
  • Co-ordinating background checks, inductions and new starter documentation.
  • Ensuring onboarding and training records are accurately maintained.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for employee relations queries, concerns and grievances.
  • Supporting investigations and recommending appropriate resolutions.
  • Promoting a positive workplace culture and strong employee engagement.
  • Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, company policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate HR records and compliance documentation.
  • Administering employee benefits programmes and supporting payroll processes.
  • Processing employee changes and maintaining data within the HR Information System (HRIS).
  • Assisting with compensation reviews and job evaluation activities.
  • Supporting the delivery of performance management and appraisal processes.
  • Coaching and advising managers on performance improvement plans and employee development.
  • Monitoring and reporting on key HR metrics and trends.
  • Co-ordinating training and development programmes to support workforce capability.
  • Maintaining training records, certifications and compliance requirements.
  • Supporting succession planning and talent development initiatives.
  • Building effective relationships with employees, managers and key stakeholders across the business.
  • Carrying out other duties as reasonably required to support the HR function.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a HR Generalist role.
  • Previous experience supporting a manufacturing or industrial environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Experience across a broad range of HR activities including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, performance management and training.
  • Proficiency using HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
