Senior/Principal Civil Engineer – Development Infrastructure

Overview

In this role you will lead the design and delivery of development infrastructure schemes within a UK engineering consultancy. You will work within the development infrastructure team to take projects from concept through technical approval to construction. You will handle highway schemes, drainage and infrastructure design, and liaise with Local Authorities, while staying hands-on and technically involved. This is a principal level position offering ownership of projects with limited supervision. You will contribute to shaping development infrastructure delivery and ensure schemes meet regulatory approvals.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver development infrastructure schemes from concept to construction
• Lead S38 and S278 highway schemes through technical approval
• Develop highway alignments, levels, and detailed design
• Design drainage and infrastructure using Civil 3D and Causeway Flow
• Produce technical drawings, calculations and supporting documentation
• Liaise with Local Authorities and approving bodies
• Perform technical checking and design reviews
• Take ownership of projects with minimal supervision

Key requirements

• Significant UK consultancy experience
• Strong understanding of UK development infrastructure and LA approval processes
• Proficiency in Civil 3D and Causeway Flow
• Proven delivery of S38 and S278 schemes through approval and construction
• Experience in drainage modelling (advantageous: TUFLOW)
• Ability to work with limited supervision and take ownership of projects
