Civil Engineer – Infrastructure Design

Overview

In this Civil Engineer role, you will support the design and delivery of civil infrastructure across diverse UK projects from Leeds. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team to develop sustainable, resilient design solutions and deliver high-quality drawings, reports and analyses. The role focuses on collaboration, digital design, and social impact, helping shape city regeneration, transport, and public realm improvements. You will engage with clients and stakeholders while progressing toward professional chartership, contributing to Arup’s innovative, values-driven culture.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of civil engineering solutions for a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated and sustainable designs
• Produce technical designs, drawings and reports to a high standard
• Engage with clients, stakeholders and project teams to deliver practical and innovative outcomes
• Take ownership of defined elements of projects, ensuring quality and accuracy
• Contribute to the development of digital engineering and BIM-led design approaches

Key requirements

• A degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Experience in civil engineering design and project delivery
• Experience using design software such as Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, AutoCAD or similar
• Interest in digital design, BIM and/or automation within engineering delivery
• A proactive and adaptable approach to problem solving
• Progression toward or achievement of professional chartership (ICE or equivalent) advantageous
• Right to work in the UK (visa status)
