Civil Design Engineer

Overview

In this role you will contribute to the design and delivery of airport infrastructure, applying strong civil engineering fundamentals within a multidisciplinary aviation team. You will work on runways, taxiways and related systems, supported by experienced engineers, shaping projects from masterplanning through handover. The position offers clear development pathways, mentoring and a focus on sustainable, resilient solutions for diverse aviation contexts. You will engage with clients and partners to enable informed investment and long-term outcomes in the aviation sector.

Responsibilities

• Design airport infrastructure components (runways, taxiways, aprons, service roads, drainage, utilities, airfield systems)
• Produce engineering calculations, reports, drawings and technical specifications across the project lifecycle
• Support site inspections and asset condition surveys to inform client investment decisions
• Take ownership of tasks and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions

Key requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
• Experience delivering civil infrastructure projects (aviation experience welcome but not essential)
• Interest in developing a career in aviation infrastructure
• Enjoys solving complex engineering challenges in multidisciplinary settings
• Knowledge of DMRB or highway civil engineering design
