Civils Site Engineer

Overview

As Senior Site Engineer you will drive technical delivery on a major 20m+ infrastructure project in the North West. You’ll oversee earthworks, highways, drainage and RC structures, ensuring work aligns with the programme, safety standards, and quality controls. You will coordinate design, temporary works, and utility activities while supporting planning, look-ahead programmes, and compensation events. This role involves leading site engineers and subs, collaborating with project and commercial teams to achieve project milestones and safe execution.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of a major infrastructure scheme
• Manage engineering activities across earthworks, structures, RC works and drainage
• Coordinate S278, S38 and utility-related works
• Manage temporary works processes
• Design coordination and technical support
• Produce and manage short-term programmes and look-ahead plans
• Assist with project planning and sequencing
• Monitor progress against programme
• Support compensation event and variation submissions
• Coordinate utility installations and diversions
• Ensure quality, compliance and site safety standards are maintained
• Supervise site engineers and subcontractors where required

Key requirements

• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering
• Strong background in infrastructure or heavy civils projects
• Experience with earthworks, highways, drainage and reinforced concrete structures
• Knowledge of NEC contracts
• Microsoft Project experience (advantageous)
• Temporary Works Coordinator knowledge desirable
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work closely with project and commercial teams
