Bilingual Software Engineer / AI SaaS

Overview

In this role you will build and maintain software in a Japanese–English bilingual setting, collaborating with local and global stakeholders. You’ll contribute to design discussions, ensure scalable and high-quality code, and support cross-functional teams in an agile environment. The position adapts to different seniorities and tech stacks, offering a chance to shape AI SaaS initiatives in Tokyo while bridging HQ and overseas teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications aligned with business requirements
• Collaborate with product, QA, and global engineering teams
• Participate in system design, architecture discussions, and code reviews
• Ensure code quality, performance, and scalability of applications
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the development lifecycle
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders in Japanese and English
• Contribute to agile development processes and continuous improvement initiatives

Key requirements

• 2+ years of professional software development experience (depending on seniority)
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, Go)
• Experience with modern development frameworks and tools
• Business-level Japanese (JLPT N2–N1 or equivalent) and English proficiency
• Experience working in a team-based development environment (Agile preferred)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment
