Overview

In this role you will own the Place Digital Products roadmap, vision, and strategy to deliver valued services for residents, businesses, and staff. You will lead and coach a team of product managers within the Digital Product & Development team, coordinating cross-functional delivery in an agile environment. You’ll translate user needs and measurable outcomes into high-quality roadmaps and requirements, collaborating with senior stakeholders and developers to drive impact. The role offers the chance to shape digital services across the council and contribute to a mission-driven, data-informed transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product roadmap, vision and strategy for Place Digital Products
  • Lead and coach a team of product managers
  • Coordinate a portfolio of services across the domain
  • Develop roadmaps, high-quality requirements and user stories
  • Identify and measure key outcomes and success metrics
  • Collaborate with senior developers to address technical debt benefits
  • Run workshops with senior stakeholders to identify new opportunities
  • Guide backlog refinement and product opportunities across the domain

Key requirements

  • Experience managing multiple digital products and delivering against business specs
  • Experience leading a team of product managers and building a training program for product ownership
  • Experience creating roadmaps for a portfolio of digital services
  • Strong knowledge of IT solutions to support digital services in a Local Authority context
  • Excellent ability to gather and clarify business requirements
  • Experience managing 3rd party IT and service suppliers
  • Experience budgeting for projects and departments
  • Experience working in a Local Authority commercial environment with housing services
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM or related technology
