Application Support Analyst – trading systems

Overview

In this role you support high-performance trading systems, ensuring reliable client service and smooth product deployments. You will work within a global, award-winning support team to resolve issues and implement solutions for buy/sell-side clients. The position combines monitoring, incident response, and collaboration with engineers to test releases, with a strong emphasis on timely, client-focused support in a 24/7 environment. This is a hands-on role for a STEM graduate passionate about Linux and trading technology.

Responsibilities

• Respond to client support requests and inquiries promptly
• Actively monitor critical systems and escalate issues
• Provide customer support for order entry, risk management, and exchange connectivity issues
• Analyze complex order and trade histories
• Coordinate deployment and configuration for new customers
• Manage distribution and installation of software enhancements and upgrades
• Collaborate with exchanges and internal engineers to test and implement releases
• Assist infrastructure team with server and network upgrade testing
• Ensure 24-hour support by coordinating with overseas offices

Key requirements

• A STEM Degree
• Demonstrable interest in working in technology
• Good understanding of Linux OS
• Ability to manage and prioritise work with minimal supervision
• Strong analytical skills to identify root causes
• Ability to work under high pressure and meet deadlines
• Experience with command line tools such as grep, sed, awk (preferred)
• Experience with Windows applications such as Excel
• Willingness to take responsibility and escalate when needed
• Home/Linux familiarity and a desire to work in financial services tech
