Responsibilities

• Lead a team to produce technically sound engineering outputs that comply with standards and client needs
• Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings, and scheme documentation within time and cost constraints
• Oversee junior staff and take responsibility for their actions
• Manage project budgets and costs to ensure commercial success
• Liaise with clients and suppliers; attend progress meetings and respond to queries
• Contribute to bids and the work-winning process
• Work on-site as needed, including out-of-hours
• Act as people manager when required by the business

Key requirements

• Demonstrable building structures experience
• Experience of managing a small team of engineers and technicians
• Technical leadership ensuring compliance with standards and design governance, including familiarity with Structural Eurocodes and Building Regulations
• Experience using 3D CAD software, Tekla Structural Designer and Tekla Tedds
• Experience managing quality and programme performance across multiple schemes
• Professional engagement with clients and stakeholders
• Chartered status with a relevant professional institution
• Hold a valid approach to on-site work and potential flexible arrangements
