Overview
As Senior Financial Controller at Tide, you will own the controllership of our credit offerings across multiple Tide Capital entities and drive robust financial reporting. You will manage month-end processes, provisioning policies, and cost of risk, ensuring accurate P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow. You will collaborate with product, risk, and operations teams to align transactions with performance metrics and regulatory requirements. Your work supports scalable growth and strengthens internal controls, helping Tide responsibly expand its credit and investment products.

Responsibilities
- Controllership of proprietary credit offerings across three Tide Capital entities
- Own month-end reporting for P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow
- Document and review loss provisioning policies for credit risk, fraud, disputes, and other cost areas
- Monitor and report credit risk performance and provisioning adequacy
- Ensure control over APPF fraud legislation and accurate P&L representation of losses
- Maintain controls over member accounts with negative balances and balance sheet substantiation
- Collaborate with Tide Credit Services, product, and operations to ensure correct transaction recording
- Lead introduction of new credit lending and investment products
- Work with collections to analyze recovery performance
- Collaborate with FP&A for budget/forecast of credit portfolio and risk costs
- Represent finance in Credit Risk Working Group and Risk & Compliance Committee
- Build robust financial controls and strengthen internal controls
- Maintain external relationships with auditors and advisors; coordinate tax data for compliance
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and systems
Key requirements
- Experience in financial services, preferably in tech-driven and scale-up environments
- Experience with credit products and provisioning for credit risk essential
- Strong financial acumen and technical accounting skills
- Familiar with UK GAAP and/or IFRS disclosures
- Experience with statutory audits of financial services companies
- Hold a professional finance qualification
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work with minimal hands-on management
