Overview
In this role, you will assess and strengthen the security of SoC hardware platforms at silicon level, working with architecture and silicon teams to mitigate vulnerabilities. You will develop proof-of-concept demonstrations and tooling to evaluate hardware security features, focusing on trust anchors, debug interfaces, and isolation mechanisms. You collaborate across architecture, firmware, and platform teams to communicate findings and drive effective mitigations. This position offers a hands-on, problem-solving environment within Arm’s Product Security team, with impact on the security of industry-leading platforms.

Responsibilities
- Conduct hands-on security assessments of SoC hardware components and security features
- Identify and analyze hardware security issues via architecture review, hardware interface analysis, and experimental testing
- Develop PoC demonstrations to illustrate system-level impact of hardware weaknesses
- Apply and expand hardware security techniques related to silicon security, privileges, and trust architectures
- Develop and maintain tools/methodologies for hardware security evaluation and experimentation
- Collaborate with architecture, silicon design, firmware, and platform teams to communicate findings and support mitigations
Key requirements
- Practical experience in offensive security, vulnerability research, or low-level systems security
- Deep knowledge of microarchitecture and SoC design principles
- Experience reviewing architectural specifications and RTL for security behavior
- Strong understanding of modern SoC architectures, security boundaries, privileges, and isolation
- Experience analyzing hardware interfaces and platform components (debug infrastructure, secure boot, interconnects)
- Familiarity with hardware debug interfaces (JTAG, SWD) and hardware attack techniques
- Experience programming in C and working knowledge of assembly (preferably ARM)
- Understanding of hardware–software interactions and security enforcement across system layers
- Ability to write clear, structured technical reports and work independently and collaboratively
