Network Engineer – Trading Contract

Overview

In this contract role you will own and operate the on‑premise global network supporting a high‑throughput FX trading platform. You’ll deploy a new high‑performance London hub and onboard global connections, working with multi‑vendor networking gear. You’ll automate configurations, troubleshoot incidents, and drive changes in a fast, market‑critical environment. Responsibilities

• Manage the on‑premise global network and deploy the London hub
• Onboard new business connections worldwide
• Operate with Arista, Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper and A10 devices
• Promote automated configuration management and tooling
• Troubleshoot incidents and handle escalations; support change management
• Participate in production readiness and reliability initiatives

Key requirements

• Minimum 5 years as a Network Engineer
• Experience with low latency gear and multi‑vendor devices (Arista, Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper, A10)
• Automation experience using Python, Ansible and Jinja2
• Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EVPN, VRFs, VXLAN, route leaking, NAT, IPv6, multicast
• Familiarity with Rest APIs, Git, SSL, DNS, LDAP, DHCP, Linux
• Network certificates (CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet NSE4/7) are advantageous
• Financial sector experience is beneficial
