Senior/Principal Civil Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead civil engineering design for building projects from concept to construction, ensuring technical quality, programme delivery and client outcomes. You will collaborate across disciplines to integrate earthworks, drainage, roads, utilities and external works while steering design coordination and approvals. You’ll contribute to project and commercial management and mentor junior engineers, strengthening the team’s capability. Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of civil engineering design solutions for building projects
• Oversee technical quality, programme, and client outcomes from concept through construction
• Design earthworks, drainage, roads, and coordination of below-ground utilities and external works
• Prepare plans, reports and technical submissions; coordinate with authorities for approvals
• Maintain clear communication with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams
• Contribute to project and commercial management, including scope and fee discussions
• Mentor junior engineers and support their development

Key requirements

• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with ICE, or working toward chartership
• Strong experience delivering civil engineering design for building developments
• Experience producing drainage strategies and sustainable drainage solutions
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers
• Ability to contribute to project delivery from technical and commercial perspectives
• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering
