Senior Civil Engineer – Transportation

Responsibilities

• Transform concept designs into detailed designs, tender documents, and on-site delivery to meet deadlines
• Ensure all designs and reports meet quality standards and technical requirements
• Lead design reviews and checks to maintain consistency and quality
• Support project delivery by defining client briefs, scope, deliverables, and cost plans
• Monitor project progress, design variations, and budgets; manage QA systems
• Coordinate with design teams to produce compliant, integrated designs
• Assist in resource planning and contract conditions review
• Maintain strong client relationships and manage expectations to foster repeat business
• Support bids, proposals, and tender responses; pursue new business opportunities
• Ensure adherence to Civil Engineering rules, regulations, and Health & Safety requirements
• Assist in preparing client bids and financial assessments
• Promote an active, collaborative employee-owned culture

Key requirements

• BEng in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (IEng/CEng MICE) or working towards
• Minimum 6 years’ industry experience in design consultancy—highways and drainage
• Proficiency in Civils 3D, Microstation, REVIT; AutoCAD experience
• Knowledge of NEC contracts, DMRB, TSRGD, Local Authority Design Guidance, and Highway Works Specification
• Experience with on-project management, design delivery, and client engagement
• Ability to model and produce Civil 3D and CAD/Revit drawings
• Understanding of CDM 2015 roles and health & safety regulations
• Experience supporting bids/proposals and knowledge of public sector frameworks
